AML and Verification at Goldenreels

We operate goldenreels-aud.com under Curaçao licence 8048/JAZ2021-056, held by Altacore N.V., and anti-money-laundering (AML) obligations come with that licence. This page sets out, in plain terms, what we check, when we check it, and what we need from you.

Our Commitment to AML Rules

We launched in 2023 with compliance built into the platform rather than bolted on afterwards. Our licence jurisdiction requires us to know who our players are, to watch how money moves through the casino, and to report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities. We take those duties seriously because they protect you as much as they protect us.

Criminal proceeds move through gambling sites when operators look the other way. We do not. Every account on our platform sits inside a risk framework that covers registration, deposits, play patterns and withdrawals, and our compliance team reviews alerts daily. Where a transaction raises genuine concern, we are legally obliged to act on it, and that obligation sits above any commercial consideration.

When We Verify Your Identity

Verification happens at three points. At registration we screen your details against sanctions and politically exposed person lists before your account goes live. At your first withdrawal we run full know-your-customer (KYC) checks, and we will not release funds until those checks clear. Beyond that, we re-verify at set thresholds and whenever account behaviour changes in a way that lifts your risk rating.

We keep the document set as small as the rules permit. Three items cover almost every case: government-issued photo ID, proof of address, and proof that the payment method belongs to you. The table below shows what we accept.

CheckAccepted documentsWhen required
IdentityPassport, driver licence or national ID cardFirst withdrawal and random re-checks
AddressUtility bill, bank statement or council rates notice dated within 3 monthsFirst withdrawal
Payment methodPhoto of card showing first 6 and last 4 digits, or screenshot of e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your nameFirst withdrawal to that method

Thresholds and triggers

Cumulative deposits of 2,000 AUD, a single withdrawal above 3,000 AUD, or a change in deposit behaviour can each trigger enhanced checks. Crypto deposits follow the same rules as fiat; using Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether or Litecoin does not exempt an account from verification.

How Verification Works Step by Step

We built the upload flow to take minutes, not days. Once you submit, our compliance officers review the files and we aim to clear standard checks well inside 48 hours. Here is the sequence from your side.

  • Log in and open the verification tab in your account profile.
  • Upload photo ID, taking care that all four corners are visible and the document is in date.
  • Upload proof of address dated within the last 3 months in your own name.
  • Upload payment method proof if you are withdrawing to that method for the first time.
  • Wait for our review; standard processing takes up to 48 hours and you will get an email either way.
  • Respond to any request for clarification within 14 days to keep the request open.

How we protect your documents

Files travel over encrypted connections straight into access-controlled storage. Only compliance staff with a documented need can open them, and every access is logged. We never email documents back to you, never share them with third parties outside our licence obligations, and never use them for marketing.

Source of Funds Requests

Most players will never be asked this question. When deposit sizes or net losses climb past levels typical for your profile, our monitoring flags the account and we may ask where the money came from. This is not an accusation; it is a legal requirement that applies to all licensed operators in our jurisdiction.

Acceptable evidence includes recent payslips, a tax return or notice of assessment, bank statements showing regular income, or sale documents for an asset. If you play with crypto, a clear record of the wallet or exchange source can serve the same purpose. We review what you send in context, and once the check clears we close the file and return your account to standard monitoring.

Checking Deposits and Withdrawals

Every deposit and withdrawal passes through automated screening, and unusual patterns go to a human reviewer. The same-method rule applies across the board: we return funds through the same channel they arrived from, so a card deposit is paid back to that card and a Tether deposit is paid back to that wallet. This rule exists because it is the single strongest check against third-party money moving through an account.

Withdrawal limits frame what we can release. The minimum withdrawal is 30 AUD, with caps of 7,500 AUD per day and 30,000 AUD per month. Crypto and e-wallet withdrawals clear within 24 hours; cards and bank transfers take 1 to 5 business days. We charge no casino fees, though your payment provider may apply its own.

Patterns we look for

Rapid deposit-then-withhold cycles, deposits from many different sources, bets placed at extreme stakes with no interest in outcomes, and accounts used by someone other than the registered holder all draw review. None of these alone is proof of anything; each is a signal that earns a closer look.

If Verification Fails

When documents are missing, expired or unreadable, we pause withdrawals on the account until the file is complete. Your balance stays intact and you can keep playing in most cases, but no funds leave the account while an open request sits unanswered. We send reminders and you have 14 days from the first request to respond.

If verification fails outright, the outcome depends on why. A mismatched name on a payment method usually means we refund the deposit to its source and close the account. Suspected fraud, sanctioned individuals or proven third-party play leads to account closure and, where the law requires it, a report to the authorities. In such cases any refund decision sits with us and follows our licence conditions. Incomplete checks after repeated reminders can also lead us to return your last deposit and close the account, or, where a return is not possible, to hold the balance pending successful verification. If you believe we got it wrong, contact [email protected] and a compliance officer will review the file.

How Long We Keep Documents

Our licence conditions require us to retain verification records for five years after an account closes. The retention period serves two purposes: it lets auditors and authorities reconstruct our decisions, and it stops the same documents being reused to open fresh accounts under false pretences. After five years we delete or irreversibly anonymise the files, and the deletion itself is logged.

While the record exists, you can ask us what we hold about you and request a copy. If you self-exclude or close your account, retention rules still apply, because the exclusion and the verification history behind it are exactly what the record exists to preserve.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to verify my account before depositing?

No. We screen your registration details at signup and run full KYC at your first withdrawal, or earlier if you hit a monitoring threshold.

How long does verification take?

Standard checks are complete within 48 hours of receiving clear documents. Crypto and e-wallet withdrawals are then processed within 24 hours.

Why must I withdraw with the same method I deposited with?

The same-method rule is an AML requirement that confirms you are the true owner of the funds, and it blocks third parties from moving money through your account.

Can I use Bitcoin to avoid verification?

No. Crypto accounts follow the same KYC rules as AUD accounts, including ID, proof of address and wallet ownership checks.

What if I cannot provide a document you asked for?

Contact [email protected] and we will work through acceptable alternatives. Withdrawals stay paused until we complete the file.
